First of all, for the transport I would try to get cheap flights with Ryanair , a low-cost company or compare prices with search engines such as Kayak. or Skyscanner.

You can also book hotels or hire a car, but I never tried before because I usually use public transport and book my accommodation at

Also, if you want to go from one city to another inside the country I’d advice you to ask around local people. For example, this Summer in France I discovered OUIGO. and OUIBUS. two webs where you can buy tickets for train or bus at lower prices.

Last but not least, BLABLACAR. “the leading carpooling platform in Europe: we connect people who need to travel with drivers who have empty seats” as written in their website. You just have to:

  • Create a profile and find a ride by written on their search engine the location. You can also see the driver profile and comments, as well as send him/her a message.
  • Afterwards, you just book and pay online (you don’t pay directly to the driver, but Blablacar)
  • In case the driver cancels, the company will refund you!
